Photo of Ammo in the grassOur dear sweet Amazon Pinta de Tierra Alta  (“Ammo” for short) came from Tierra Alta Highlands. We are very fortunate to be continuing our line through Ammo.  Her mother Frijolita (aka Beanie) came from our dear Bliss and is Ammo’s grand-mother and Shaman is her great-grand-mother. We are VERY happy that she passed all her health tests with flying colors and that she is producing such wonderful healthy friendly puppies! And good looking too!

Ammo earned her Canine Good Citizen when she was only 13 months old. We’re so proud! She has excelled at SAR (Search and Rescue) training and is an excellent tracker! Since we live on a farm she does her duty in herding the goats and chickens when they get out of the coop!

Ammo’s temperament is the best! She is friendly to everyone and wiggles for pets and loves when she meets strangers–she is definitely NOT the aloof type of Entlebucher. She is highly intelligent and learns new things every day. We call her “sweet bull” because she is a Taurus and somewhat pushy but she is oh so sweet. If you want an Entlebucher who is the protective/guarding type, getting a puppy from Ammo is not the right choice. Temperament is passed on and ALL of her puppies are the friendly, sweet confident types. Ammo has not produced a shy or fearful puppy. Please see the testimonials on the About Us page for more information on her puppies.

Ammo received two really good hip test scores: an OFA EXCELLENT (the only breeding girl in North America at the time with that score!) and a .25 and .29 in her Pennhip scores (which makes her in the 90th percentile for the Entlebucher breed). She passed her gonioscopy test and continues to pass her yearly CERF (certified ophthalmologist eye test). Her prcd genetic (pra eye test) came back a “carrier” (won’t get PRA but has the recessive gene) so we are breeding her only to “clear” prcd males.
